Not your typical doula:

No woo- no pseudoscience, but fully supportive of natural birth and gentle parenting, Dr. Chasse is dedicated to to optimize the health of women and infants by providing AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) and HHS (Department of Health and Human Services) recommended education and support. 

ACOG recognizes that emotional and physical complications are more likely to arise and remain when adequate support is not available postpartum. Dr. Chasse seeks to reduce morbidity and mortality risks by providing this support and education. Addressing questions about vaccines, prenatal and well-child visits, foreign travel during pregnancy or with an infant, medications, insect repellents, vitamins and more.


Dr Jill is trained to help new moms, by:
-Emotional and psychological Transition to Motherhood
-Assessing the needs of the family 
-Emotional Support of the individuals parenting choices
-Encouragement and positive affirmations
-Newborn care hands-on education and care including:
   Normal newborn, behavior,  Newborn appearance,  Sleep habits,  Feeding,   Bathing,   Dressing,   Carrying,   Baby wearing,  Vaccinations,   Check ups,   When to call the doctor, etc

-Breastfeeding counseling
-Establishing helpful routines
-Going back to work and pumping
-Cord and circumcision care
-Screening for PMADS (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders) 
-Sibling education and transition

-AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommedations 

Benefits of a Postpartum Doula
The presence of a postpartum doula has been scientifically proven to: 

  • reduce the incidence of postpartum depression,
  • increase the rate of successful breastfeeding, 
  • strengthen all relationships in the family as they make this transition together

About Dr. Jill

Dr. Jill Chasse, has over 20+ years in Maternal/Child health including Maternal Morbidity, Lactation, Reproductive Health, Global Health - Infectious Diseases And Preventive Medicine, Behavioral Science, Developmental Psychology, and Epidemiology
Her Education includes a DrPH (doctor of Public Health) in Health Advocacy and Leadership (Maternal/Child health concentration), a PhD in Health Administration and Psychology and a MS, in Developmental and Family Psychology. She also attended Institute of Holistic Midwifery and Ancient Art Midwifery Institute, is CAPPA and DONA trained, and worked in multiple L&D rooms. She is the founder of BEBE Baby Empowered Birthing Education and taught childbirth education to medical students and midwifery students.

In addition, she has birthed FOUR BABIES (home, hospital, birth center and c-section) from 2002-2018. She is trained as a breastfeeding educator, nursed all 4 of her children, the taught breastfeeding, babywearing, early nutrition, and infant massage.
